After always being drawn to animals, I realised what I truly wanted to do for the first time in my life was dog grooming. Once the decision was made I wanted to do it correctly, so I started studying to be a dog groomer. I subsequently passed both my City and Guilds Level 2 to be an assistant then the Level 3 to be a dog groomer, which has led to my being fully City & Guilds qualified.
Both my husband Ian and myself have lived in Primrose Jarrow all our lives and you will generally see us out and about or walking our 2 dogs locally.
I previously worked in a busy grooming salon in Gateshead, working with all breeds, shapes, sizes and ages together with very different temperaments and personalities.
We have converted our garage and set up a little grooming salon to offer a wide range of dog grooming services, with easy parking available outside our home.
Both Ian and myself will be working in the Dog Grooming Salon, as we want each dog we see to have a happy, enjoyable experience and we want you to continue to come back to see us.
We are both committed to offering a dedicated, reliable, friendly service to make your dog at home while they are in our care.
I have used 4 Paws 🐾for a few of my working dogs and Sheila is always keen to get the best outcome. My Cocker Spaniel Fizz has been in for numerous cuts and baths. But the big task was my Belgian Malinois, Aslaner, who is a working protection dog. It has been a very hard task to find a company that will not only take on this breed of dog but also for someone who has the qualifications and experience. Thank You.

She looks very smart, and of course very clean!
The cut was excellent with Maggie’s hair left short all over the body and the hair long on legs and beard, a classic schnauzer cut, just what I asked for. And the cut has lasted.
Maggie did not appear stressed or annoyed when she returned home so she must have felt at ease with yourself.
Would happily use Sheila again for a groom and bath and be confident in recommending to other dog owners. Many Thanks
Thanks ginger looks great ,I have never had him clipped before so I was a bit apprehensive as I wasn’t sure how he would react and I am a bit of a worrier, but he was looking a bit raggy. He now he looks five years younger and even smells nice, he has never looked so smart before. I have to say I am most impressed both with ginger and the fact you were able to keep him calm and still have all your fingers. As you will gather I am very pleased with result and thanks again turning my raggy tousled hound into a smooth cuddly terrier.

Just been for our first visit to 4 Paws Dog Groomers with my 15yr old Border Terrier.
What a wonderful experience Ralphie had and he looked so handsome when he came out.
He is a nervous dog but Sheila the owner and groomer made such a fuss of him now they are best friends. Premises were lovely and welcoming which also added to the excellent service
